Carefully trained Hospice of the Finger Lakes volunteers are known as a source of comfort and strength to patients and their families coping with life-limiting illness. Most often, volunteers offer companionship, emotional support, run errands, and provide respite for the family by sitting with the patient or visiting with the caregiver.

Volunteers may also serve in other Hospice program areas, including:
• administrative/office support
• fundraising/publicity
• special services: massage therapy, music therapy, notary public
• bereavement support
